Rich tin deposit was
discovered by 'Larut', the elephant. This story dated long time ago
during the height of Long Ja'afar administrative power. Long Ja'afar has
an elephant named 'Larut' that wandered in the jungle for days, being
worried, he sent his men to look for his beloved elephant and later
found it, all covered with mud and tin ore. Thus the name Larut for was
inspired, from an elephant. |
