House Renovation Part 1

Renovating a house is definitely no easy job. It can be an anxious and stressful process under certain circumstances. However, I believe all could agree that after we have gone through this process, we will surely gain extra knowledge about renovating a house. It will all be worth it to prepare the best HOME for now and future.

My hubs and I bought a condo unit in Penang 3 years ago and now we are undergoing the renovation. We have done some research and would like to share some good contacts in Penang.

Plaster Ceiling

Our unit is about 1200sf and we decided to have plaster ceiling for the whole house. My hubs’ colleague has recommended us to this person, Ah Huat as his house was done by him as well. So we did. After a few sessions of meetings and comparing quotations (with another contractor), finally we agreed to let him do our plaster ceiling. Let me share some pictures of the process.

Surprisingly, they worked very fast and completed within 10 working days. The total cost for the plaster ceiling is RM 4k+. It’s the toilet’s ceiling which cost the most. For the toilet’s ceiling, we use this material which is called CT Woods. CT Woods are made from plastic and rice husk. They are water resistant, termite free, fire retardant, durable and maintenance free. So we thought it will be ideal to be fixed in the toilet. And it looks very nice! For 2 toilets, it cost about RM1k+.

They have done a great job and I would recommend you to look for him if you are surveying people to do plaster ceiling. Good things are meant to be shared!
