Leong Ya Kitchen Restaurant

I remember the last time I had my dinner at Leong Ya Kitchen (梁雅老招牌), that was many years ago, about 7 years ago I guess, in Puchong. And the other day I saw the signboard when I passing by Taipan USJ, wow, it reminded me of their famous paper wrapped chicken. So few of us went there for dinner yesterday after sports.

Here's the signature dish paper wrapped chicken (纸包鸡). Price is RM 4/piece, we ordered 5pieces, all were chicken drumsticks. The sauce is very tasty, especially when you mix it with your rice. The chicken meat is tender, just I felt that it is more delicious if you eat with the sauce because the marinated part only on the surface of the meat. Let's imagine how nice it is if you do not need to cut the meat and dip into the sauce before you eat it because of "not enough taste". Maybe my expectation is too high? :P

Other dishes majority comes with 3 serving size, S-small, M-medium and L-large. Since they recommend the yin yong pork rib, we give it a try. It comes with 2 different flavor, which is marmite and salad sauce, cost RM 28 (M) -it doesn't comes with S serving size. Umm...a bit disappointed as the portion is small, taste "ok" only and bones were more than the meat.

The stir-fry spinach is my favorite,  and it is cheapest in the vegetables selection. The small serving size of others needs at least RM 13-15, but spinach only cost RM 10. We ordered medium cost at RM 15 :)

Another dish is their signature fried tofu, we also ordered size M, I think total is about 14-15 pieces, comes with separate sauce. Taste was just ok, no surprise.

Plus another bittergourd soup, RM 12 (S), the portion just nice for 4 person.

Overall my first meal in Leong Ya USJ doesn't make me impress, but I will try other dishes next time. Will share it here again =)

How to apply China Visa?

It has been almost 2 years since my last visit to China. My last Visa was arranged by travel agent but this time I have to do it myself for my trip in July 2015.

HOW???

FOR PERSONAL (VACATION)

1) First, confirm you trip (book your flight / hotel) before submitting your application because you need these support documents:

Original Passport (without passport cover)

- 1x passport size photo (To be attached on Page 1 of the application form)
- 1x photocopy of your passport (2nd & 3rd page which shows your particulars & signature)

- Hotel booking confirmation (I have prepared this as backup, but the reception told me either flight OR hotel booking will do, my advice is just bring it along IN CASE they need both)

NOTE: If you forgot to photostat your passport or bring the passport size photo, they have a kiosk to provide the photocopy and photography services. (with charges)

2) Fill in the application form ONLINE or MANUALLY.

ONLINE - Fill in the form in their website, print out and sign.

4) Fee & Charges:

If you are China frequent travelers, do apply for multiple entries. You may try to apply for 24 months, I got it approved for my last application back in 2013  :)

Additional Comment:

Business Trip? For those having business trip to China, I realize that more documents are needed for the visa application. They need invitation letter from China counterpart, letter from your company to proof that they are sending you to China for business visit, accommodation booking confirmation, contact person in China (to be filled in the form). Maybe it is easier to select "Tourism" as your purpose of visit. It's up to you!

Parking? Don't want to park inside Hampshire building? If you are coming with someone, just park at the roadside (Outside the building) if nobody occupy the space, and wait for you in the car. (If not mistaken, the space can occupy about 3-4 cars) Submitting form or collecting visa won't take you so long unless a lot of people are going there on the same day with you. :)

It was raining just now, sorry guys, I'm not able to take a clearer pic to show you the place.

If it is raining during your visit, there is a drop off place in front of the building entrance. After drop off, driver has to look for somewhere to park :)

You can get the pudding from Tipsy Brew O'Coffee at Setiawalk (C-007-G, Block C, Ground Floor),they serves nice coffee too. :)  Price for the pudding is RM 8.90/bottle, we bought 2 bottles including GST = RM 18.87. Well, we just can't buy only one because the portion is too little. Flavors are subject to the availability. Among the flavors available on that day, we chosen Salted Gula Melaka and Classic Mango. Brussels Beer Cafe Setiawalk

It was Saturday night, hubby wanted to buy Sweet Montage Handmade Pudding from Setiawalk Puchong, so we decided to have dinner at Brussels beer cafe. In fact, we wanted to try out this restaurant after so many times hanging out at Setiawalk, finally, here we are.

We have to choose a seat outside because no table available inside. No choice, we have chosen a table under the fan because the weather is SO HOT!

Normally we seldom order drinks in restaurant, but due to the hot weather, we ordered a glass of ice lemon tea, follow by Brussels style pork knuckle (half portion) and carbonara pasta.

When the food is served, I didn't expect the pork knuckle is already cut into pieces. At the bottom of the meat they have sautéed potatoes and mushroom, served with the brown sauce. Let's start with the pork knuckle, it was totally disappointed because the meat is "dry" and cold, so we have to pour all the brown sauce on it. Well, the meat itself was a bit "tasteless" as well as the sauce, I was expecting something better from the crispy skin. Oh dear, yes, it was crispy but too salty.

Well, the carbonara, this is always my favorite choice of pasta. However, the carbonara they served looked good but it is also salty, I couldn't taste the cheese at all. The spaghetti was a bit "hard" still, it should be cooked for little longer would be perfect.

Overall we were disappointed with the food we had although we felt so FULL.

After we got back home, I felt so thirsty and can't stop drinking water. And yeah, I wake up with a puffy eye this morning. :(

Here's the bill. The disappointment make us feel that the food is a bit overpriced.

You may have a look to their menu at www.brusselsbeercafe.com
They have 7 branches in Malaysia. All details are stated in the website.

Caffeine souvenir?

Someone bought me souvenirs from Japan which is not in my wish list - Coffee & Green tea powder. I remember I didn't tell her that I need "caffeine", I just told her I want banana, Tokyo banana =P But it's alright, I'm still getting my banana souvenir, just wonder how would be the taste of this DYDO brand coffee.

Will add in my comments in this post after I've tried it. :) Stay tuned~

Tried the small Dydo blend coffee today (25/6), taste nothing special, like normal canned coffee :)
